How It Works

How Does Our Free Audio Transcription Software Work?

Welcome to FreeTranscriptions!

Our audio transcription software is free to use on your web browser up to 300 audio minutes a month.

To get your free transcript, simply create an account on our client portal. Once your account has been verified, you can now start uploading your recordings and request for transcripts.

Let's Get Started!

Step 1

Log in to your FreeTranscriptions account.

Step 2

Select the audio files you want transcribed then click Upload.

Step 3

Once all selected files have been uploaded, click Transcribe.

Step 4

Your files will appear on your FreeTranscription dashboard.  Once a file has been processed, the file status will change to Transcribed.

Step 5

To view your online transcript, click on a filename.  This will bring you to a new page where you can view your interactive transcript. The online transcript has a read-a-long function meaning it will highlight the section of the recording as it is played.

Step 6

You may also download a copy of your transcript.  Choose from either downloading in MSWord format or in PDF format.

Step 7

Choose from one of our Editing Services:  Economy Proofing or Premium Proofing.

Step 8

Select the delivery preference of your choice.  Add in other instructions if you have any.  Once a request has been made, a member of the FreeTranscriptions team will get in touch with you.

Editing Services

While machine transcripts offer fast and budget-friendly transcripts, there is still a large difference in accuracy when compared to transcripts done by humans. FreeTranscriptions recognizes that gap in accuracy. We offer machine transcript editing services that fit your budget. Choose from Economy Proofing or Premium Proofing.

Machine+

Speech to text technology has come a long way, but while there have been vast improvements in the quality of the transcriptions, it doesn’t appear to be the case for many speech recognition technologies. Machine+ uses deep learning to provide highly accurate transcripts within minutes.
